Fucking Shit Up With Your Leadership
Part of the toxic leadership conditioning many of us receive, is to make sure everything is orderly, agreeable, not making waves, palpable, keep people happy, and more.
The end result is that we are taught to avoid messiness at all costs.
The problem with that when it comes to leadership is that leadership is messy.
Leadership done well is about relationships.
Relationships deal with humans.
Humans are imperfect and messy. (and also magical)
So if you are avoiding making messes as a leader, you are likely creating a lot of inner tension for yourself.
On one hand you want to cause change, build things, and have a positive impact.
On the other hand you don't want to make a mess.
What if it was ok to go f*ck sh*t up?
Building a business that works for you and the world - that requires breaking old systems.
Allowing your team to learn and grow by you letting go of some of your control - that's gonna create mistakes.
Demanding an end to oppressive systems and laws - yep, a whole bunch of people are gonna be mad about that.
You being more of who you are - it's going to confuse some of your relationships.
To create something new, to be something different, to lead your way - it's going to at times, f*ck sh*t up.
Isn't that the point? Isn't that why we admire trailblazers, disruptors, rebels, badasses? Because they show us what could be?
You are that leader.
There is someone somewhere that admires what you are creating as a leader.
Someone somewhere is saying "I can do that, because they are doing it".
What are you disrupting with your leadership?
